Description

The battle of Fort Sackville will be highlighted during a special program presented at 6:00 pm (Eastern) on Saturday July 27 at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park (GRCNHP). Volunteers and staff will conduct a tour of the battlefield. Visitors will arrive at Fort Sackville in time for the battle. The tour will be highlighted by talking with different participants involved in the battle. Park volunteers and staff will portray British soldiers, French civilians, and soldiers in Clark's army. Through the tour, visitors will not only be able to gain a better appreciation for the sacrifices of Clark and his men, but also a better understanding of teh views that the British in the fort, as well as the French townspeople of Vincennes had of the engagement at Fort Sackville. Historic weapons demonstrations will be included in the program.  Program meets at the visitor center at 6:00 pm (Eastern).
