Loving Muses: Paul Laurence Dunbar and Alice Dunbar-Nelson - February 28 at 2:00 p.m.
In 1895 Paul wrote a letter to author Alice Ruth Moore, which started a correspondence that would end in elopement three years later. Alice and Paul expressed their hopes, love, and expectations through their love letters to each other. While not totally complete, the available letters shed light on Alice and Paul’s relationship through their perspectives from courtship and engagement to marriage and separation.
