King Holiday Events 2026 | Mission Possible 2

Join the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park and Preservation District in honoring the life, legacy, and enduring vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the 2026 King Holiday observance, January 15–19. This multi-day commemoration invites students, families, volunteers, and the broader community to reflect on Dr. King’s message of service, justice, and the Beloved Community through education, worship, and action.

The week begins with a 97th Birthday Observance designed for grade school students, offering an engaging and meaningful introduction to Dr. King’s life and impact. Community members are then invited to participate in a Volunteer Day of Service, putting Dr. King’s call to serve others into action.

On Sunday, experience the power of faith and music during the Beloved Community Gospel Tribute at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, celebrating the spiritual roots of the Civil Rights Movement. The observance concludes on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a full day of reflection and engagement at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park.
