This 1-hour and 15-minute hike starts at 10:00 am.
Description
Participants will have a chance to help survey native butterflies along this designated, easy 1-mile loop trail as part of the Carolina Butterfly Monitoring Program, while also learning about the butterflies and blooming wildflowers the butterflies feed and lay their eggs on.
We’ll meet on the Manor House side porch (as you approach the manor from the parking lot). The route will follow the service road to the Duncan carriage trail then loop below the service road to the Carriage Barn before returning to the Manor House (just under 1 mile total). In case of inclement weather, we’ll discuss native butterflies and wildflowers on the Cone Manor House porch. Optional: Bring binoculars if you have them
