Above the doors and windows that overlook the ocean is the The Wudzixeedi Gooch (Multiplying Wolf) house screen. In 1965 this screen was installed outside above the entrance, in keeping with Tlingit tradition. Customarily house screens are displayed outside to identify the clan within. However, with its proximity to the sea, the elements began to take their toll rather quickly and the screen was brought inside, protecting it from further damage. This painted crest tells of a time when the Wolf Clan outgrew the clan house and had to establish a new house. Truth be told, this screen has companions as it shares a story with several other items in this room.
