West Casemate

A wooden room with a large fireplace, a big rough wood table, and a bed filled with straw.
The casemate on the western end of the fort would have housed many soldiers.

National Park Service/M. Colangelo

This entire structure was once a soldiers’ barracks similar to the Jansen barracks. Now part of the building is modern storage and the north end is home to additional living history barracks.
