With La Jara Creek flowing in and out of it, the pond at the heart of Valle Grande provides excellent views of the expanse of the southern portion of the caldera. Abundant with water fowl and amphibians, the pond is a peaceful destiantion that is easily accessible from the trail leading out from the entrance station.
