The Pinehurst Trail runs for just under 1.5 miles from the western border between the District of Columbia and Maryland to Beach Drive. The trail follows the Pinehurst Branch, a small tributary of Rock Creek. 

The Pinehurst Trail is blazed with goldenrod colored markings.
