Today the fortification known as Battery Robinett is gone. The top of the hill where it once stood, directly behind today's Civil War Interpretive Center, is a quiet place for reflection and remembrance. Looking to the north and northwest from the hilltop you can see residential neighborhoods marked by a church steeple that stand over what would have been cleared ground and abatis that slowed the Confederate assaults in 1862.
