Symbolic Birth Cabin

Located inside the Memorial Building, the Symbolic Birth Cabin represents the one Abraham Lincoln was born in on February 12, 1809. While the original was likely lost to time, the logs in this cabins date to mostly the 1840s and depicts a typical cabin of the mid 19th century.

People gather daily to look upon this cabin and reflect on the simple beginnings of the person whom held the nation together during its greatest trial, the Civil War.

Like all of us, Lincoln was confronted with significant events that shaped and altered the course of his future. What turning points in your own life have altered your pathway to where you are now?
