The Texas Panhandle is known for its magnificent sunsets and wide-open spaces. Watching the vibrant colors of orange, pink, red, blue, turquoise and gold painted over the blue sky is a rich experience. As soon as the sun sets over the prairie, the magic begins.
Sunsets at Lake Meredith can be a photographer’s dream. A Lake Meredith sunset can be intense, yet surprising. Check the sunset times with the local weather service and head out to the North Viewpoint on the north side of Sanford Dam. This area is an excellent area to view the sun as it sets over Lake Meredith. When days are short and nights are long, nothing is better than watching the sunset with some hot cocoa, soup, or coffee.
