The stone posts you see were used as gate posts or corner fence posts. The two pairs of posts were used to hold a gate and fence off the barnyard areas. The single limestone post in front of the home was used as a corner post for the fence around the Truman home.

The posts were constructed around 1900 using quarried limestone.
