St. Francis Church is Kalaupapa Settlement's Catholic Church. Father Damien built the original chapel in 1873. It burned down in 1906 when coals from a censer were spilled after a mass and not fully extinguished. The church that stands today was built in 1908. Mass is still held at the church by resident Catholic priest Patrick Killilea.

Visitors are welcome to enter the church and attend mass but please be respectful of the space.
