Welcome to your self guided tour: The Birds of South Marble Island!

A highlight of any trip into the bay is the variety birds readily seen. A slow cruise past South Marble Island offers the opportunity to see many species of birds at once. The island provides nesting habitat for some, while also providing space for birds to rest between feeding excursions. Here are a few of the birds to look out for at South Marble Island and elsewhere in the bay.

Know before you go: South Marble Island is closed to camping and foot traffic year-round. All vessels (including kayaks) must remain further than 50 yards from the southern half of South Marble Island and remain further than 100 yards from nesting seabird colonies. Binoculars are advised.
