The Sam Hewlett Pavilion overlooks the Chattahoochee River in the Island Ford Unit in Sandy Spring, Georgia. The pavilion is one of only three pavilions in Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
The pavilion is accessed by walking down a moderately steep paved and gravel walkway behind the Historic Hewlett Lodge. The pavilion includes picnic tables and a large built in charcoal/wood fireplace grill set in the shade of the trees. The restroom facility in the lodge is accessible only during regular visitor center hours, 9 a,m to 5 p.m. daily. Potable water is available in the lodge and outside. Electrical service is not available. The facility can accommodate approximately 25 people.
The parking lots near the lodge will accommodate up to 63 vehicles. There are 5 ADA-designated parking spaces.
