Sagebrush

Silver-green sagebrush is a common sight throughout the western United States. Here, it grows abundantly on terraces above the Little Missouri River. Look closely at the leaves on several of the bushes as you walk along the trail. You should find three different shapes belonging to three different species. Notice how each species has a unique smell.
