The Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway is a scenic motorway that runs from the Potomac River, north along Rock Creek for a distance of 2 miles, terminating at Beach Drive. 

The Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway is a major commuting thoroughfare in to and out of the city of Washington. Closures are in effect Monday through Friday between Shoreham Drive NW/Beach Drive NW and Virginia Avenue NW.

On weekdays, all traffic is directed southbound towards downtown Washington, DC between 6:45 AM and 9:30 AM.  

In the afternoon, all traffic is directed northbound between 3:45 PM and 6:30 PM.  

There are some holidays when traffic on the parkway is not reversed. Please be aware of and respect all signage, cones, and barricades that will be directing traffic flow.
