Sit quietly for a moment and listen. You may hear birds singing and moving about in the reeds, or the subtle splash of a turtle sliding into the pond. Perhaps you will hear the cardinal's liquid whistle, the raucous descending call of the sora, or the sharp, double "tsuk" of the secretive marsh wren. Patience and a pair of binoculars may reward you with a glimpse of these birds, or a spiny softshell turtle basking on a log. How many different bird songs can you hear?
