Locomotives on the Quincy & Torch Lake railroad ran on steam, which required a water source. This stop, located next to the locomotive house and car repairing shop, was used to replenish the train’s water supplies. Due to the steep slope of the ground in this location the water tower sits on large wooden scaffolding. Recent conservation work on the building finished in 2019 which updated its exterior and preserved it for future generations.
