This hoist house was the 3rd in succession to serve the #2 shaft. The building is a 22-foot tall single story made from rough red and white Jacobsville sandstone with clean cut blocks to highlight the buildings corners and sides of windows and doors. Decorative red-brick arches can be seen above the windows and doors. Long since removed, the hoist inside raised copper rock and moved men to and from their worksites underground. The building and museum inside are now part of the Quincy Mine paid tour.
