Built in 1882, this structure housed the second hoist for the #2 shaft. The building is a tall single-story structure made from poor-rock with arched brick details over the windows and door. Recent preservation includes the addition of a new roof, tuckpointing, and window coverings. Original dormers have been removed. In 1894 the company built a new hoist for the #2 just down the hill.
