Built in 1962 as a Minuteman missile launch control facility, Quebec-01 was re-purposed for the Peacekeeper Missile in 1986 and was used until 2005. This site is significant as the only accessible Peacekeeper Missile Alert Facility left in the world and will preserve and interpret the Cold War history of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, fostering an understanding of the mission and duties of the personnel and crews assigned to work there. Located twenty-five miles north of Cheyenne, the Quebec 01 Missile Alert Facility was restored by the US Air Force on behalf of Wyoming State Parks and opened to the public in August 2019.
