This group of vegetation covered foundations are the remains of the machine shop, engine room, and boiler room for the Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine, which was operational in the early 1900s on the land that eventually became Prince William Forest Park. Within these separate concrete foundations or pads before you are various configurations of rooms with raised and depressed levels and protruding metal pins and bolts. For your safety and the safety of these historic foundations, please do not cross the fence and climb on them.
