This short (0.3 mi) connector trail leads to the longer 1871 Trail to Kiʻilae village. Walk along the sandy coastline then turn mauka (towards the mountain) as the trail turns to lava rock and intersects with the 1871 Trail. 

See ancient, historic, and natural features such as kou trees, Paumoa Beach, historic salt pans, and the Chief Keawe House Complex.
