Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits, Information

The Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum is a re-creation of the Tucson Presidio built in 1775, the same year that the Anza expedition passed through along the Santa Cruz River along the overland route that would establish the city of San Francisco and Spanish power in Alta California.

At the Presidio San Agustín del Tucson, visitors can "travel back in time to learn about life as early Tucsonans would have lived it. Docent tours discuss life in the Santa Cruz Valley for early Native Americans, Presidio residents and Territorial Period settlers. See the archaeological remains of a pit house. Walk along the original Presidio wall and experience a 150-year-old classic Sonoran Row house."

The Tucson Presidio Museum is located in downtown Tucson. An official NPS Juan Bautista de Anza NHT Passport Stamp is located at this site. This is passport stamp #7 (a list of Anza NHT Passport Stamp locations is found on this page). Operating hours and information can be found on the Tucson Presidio website.
