The start of the trail is located by the back deck of the visitor center. You will see a trail leading into the woods along Popes Creek with a wayside at the trailhead. The trail is mostly flat with an occasional rolling elevation gain of about 20 feet and is constructed of crushed pea gravel. There are benches available periodically along the trail for your enjoyment.
