Pond Pitch is located in the East Branch of the Penobscot River. It gained its name from the pool just above the ledge of the waterfall. It is part of a series of pitches, or rapids, known as Grand Falls. Hike or bike 3 miles out and back to the viewpoint of Pond Pitch. Paddlers are advised to portage around all falls and pitches. Please be mindful of the campsite nearby.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Restrooms: Vault toilets are available at North Gate parking lot and Oxbow Picnic Area. Otherwise, follow best practices for remote waste management.

Parking: Parking is available at the Haskell Gate trailhead parking.

Trail Etiquette: Leashed pets are allowed on this trail. Carry out all trash and food waste (fruit peels, shells, etc.). Do not feed the wildlife.
