People have been here for thousands of years. Many tribes, including Southern Paiutes, Hopi, Ute, and Zuni, call this area home. Over 150 years ago, early settlers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints came here. They built nearby communities, many of which are still here. Today this place is a national park. It is protected for you and people around the world to enjoy. Check out the kiosk beside you for an opportunity to connect with others who have visited this special place.
