Boston’s oldest residential neighborhood, the North End, includes the Paul Revere House, downtown Boston’s oldest residence, built about 1680. Paul Revere and his family owned and occupied it most of the time from 1770 to 1800. The Paul Revere Memorial Association now operates it, along with the neighboring Pierce-Hichborn House, as a house museum. The association restored the dwelling in 1908 after it had been used as a cigar factory and bank, and for other purposes.
