Season: Summer

Paradise is open year-round, but this orientation guide is designed for the summer season when trails are snow-free. In spring and fall, there may be patches of snow covering sections of trail. Please stay on trails, even if it means crossing snow, to avoid trampling delicate meadow plants. Pets are not allowed on trails.  

This location is the junction of East Skyline Trail and Mazama Ridge Trail. 

  • East Skyline Trail is oriented roughly east-west at this intersection, with the downhill trail to west when facing Mount Rainier (northwest) and the uphill trail to the east. 
  • Mazama Ridge / Lakes Trail goes to the south, connecting to the High Lakes trail and Reflection Lakes. 

How Far Is It?  

  • Connecting to Paradise Glacier Trail: 0.44 miles, average walking time 17 minutes. 
  • Paradise (Jackson Visitor Center and Upper Parking Lot): 1.4 miles, average walking time 54 minutes, following Skyline Trail downhill to the west and then to the southwest. 
  • Connecting to Reflection Lakes via Mazama Ridge along the Lakes Trail is approximately 2.3 miles with an average walking time of 1 hour, 29 minutes.
