Quick Facts

Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

The Parade Grounds are the middle area of the fort where military drills, morning meetings, and possibly the raising and lowering of the American flag took place. The original fort wouldn't have had the luxury of woodchips to protect from muddy conditions; the rain combined with the inward slanting roofs would have made the parade ground very messy if boards or gutters were not placed or made.
