Oxbow Picnic Area is located at the top of a steep embankment along the East Branch of the Penobscot River. Enjoy a picnic with a view of the waterway as it enters a series of sharp bends known as the Oxbow. 

To get to the Oxbow Picnic Site, follow New River Road south past the North Gate parking area and turn onto Oxbow Road. Follow Oxbow road until you reach the picnic site. There is a vault toilet and a couple picnic tables at this location.
