Quick Facts
Location:
Ohanapecosh
Iye (Yakama tribal word for welcome), to the Ohanapecosh area of Mount Rainier National Park! From the first people, the Taidnapam, to you enjoying the views from the trail today, people have been drawn to this realm of lowland forest, hot springs, and flowing turquoise river for centuries. Before you set out, take a moment to appreciate the size of the trees that grow in these forests. The wood slice at this location was acquired in 1964 and you can see the thousands of years of history written in its rings.
