Oak Ridge Observation Tower
Located on the First Day's Battlefield north of town, from the Oak Ridge Observation Tower you can view much of Oak Ridge and the fields of battle from July 1, 1863. Looking south you can observe into the town of Gettysburg.
The Gettysburg Battlefield Commission completed this tower in 1896. At the time the tower was much higher, but the tower was shortened in the 1960s.
The Oak Ridge Observation Tower is a 23-fooot tall metal tower with a flat platform at the top. The platform can only be accessed by climbing 2 flights of stairs. View a photo gallery from the top.
