Beauty berry “Callicarpa americana”

This opposite leaved shrub found hanging above the marker has delicate pink flowers in early summer which attract butterflies and birds. In late summer, lavender-colored berries hug the branches. The fully ripe berries can be made into jelly and dessert glazes. Stomach aches were treated with a tea made from the leaves and roots.
