The Museum of the Cherokee Indian preserves and perpetuates the history, culture, and stories of the Cherokee people. Established in 1948, the Museum of the Cherokee Indian is one of the longest operating tribal museums. The museum incorporates many techniques for storytelling, including exhibits, modern and historic artwork, and hands-on technology which together help to bring 12,000 years of Cherokee history to life.
