Location:
1.6 miles round trip from the trailhead to the encampment and back.
The tipi poles that are in the encampment today are a form of memorialization and a place to leave offerings. Beginning in the late 1960s, the park staff and Nez Perce descendants began to set up tipi poles to remember and honor those that were here.
