Lynx Pond is accessed via a short out and back, ADA accessible trail. The viewing platform at Lynx Pond offers those driving along the Katahdin Loop Road a chance to get out of their vehicle and observe a rich natural community within the monument. Standing in the open air you may hear the rapping of a woodpecker’s beak against bark, the splashing of a duck’s wing against water, or see a solitary moose diving below the surface to snack on aquatic vegetation. Look for signs to Lynx Pond at mile 2.2 of the Katahdin Loop Road.
