Quick Facts

Scenic View/Photo Spot

The location of Brigadier General Ulysses S. Grant's headquarters during the 1862 battle was not far from this location, in a small farmhouse owned by Widow Crisp.

Mrs. Crisp's descendants preserved one of her quilts, the Log Cabin or "barn raising" quilt, which is featured in this quilt block. The quilt is now in the care of Carolyn Walter Darke.
