Tucked in the front yeard of the Sprigg House, this wayside explores the friendships of Mary Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's wife. Mary was quite a sociable woman and made many friends in the neighborhood and in the city of Springfield whom she kept correspondence with throughout her life, even after teh family moved to Washington D.C. Among her friends was Julia Ann Sprigg, whose house stands next to this wayside.
