Lee Feed and Grain was established by a free black man named Alfred Lee in the early 1800’s. Family owned and operated, the feed and grain operated well into the 1940s and was listed as the oldest family owned African American business in America. The modernization of Georgetown forced them out of business. The feed and grain store sat on the corner of 29th and M streets for the entire time it was in operation.

The building now at 2900 M Street NW is a private business. Please obey and respect posted signs.
