The first sound films were shown in Paschoal Hall in 1931, with at least two films per week beginning that year. By the late 1930s, the hall featured three movies per week. Viewers could watch one movie for free each week, and after could pay $.25 for each of the next two films. Tickets were sold through the small arched windows on the south exterior wall. The profits from the films, food, and refreshments went towards social clubs in the early years. Later, enterprising residents maintained the concession stand.
