Scenic View/Photo Spot

At Juney Whank Falls, multiple small streams converge and cascade 80.0 feet (24.4 m) down a wall of rock before flowing under a wooden footbridge that crosses the falls. You can view these falls from either side of the footbridge.

Juney Whank is a Cherokee phrase meaning “place where the bear passes.” There is only a slim chance of seeing a bear on this trail, though, since it is well-trafficked. Juney Whank Falls is just up a short but steep trail that begins in the parking area at the end of Deep Creek Road past the Deep Creek Campground.

How to Get There

  • Park at the large parking area at the end of Deep Creek Rd. The trail starts at the far end of the parking lot. Follow signs for Juney Whank Falls as there are a few turns.
  • Enjoy two other waterfalls in the Deep Creek area via a loop hike.
