Quick Facts
Location:
141 Franklin Street, Quincy, MA
Significance:
The Kitchen has connections to Abigail Adams and Louisa Catherine Adams.
The Kitchen is located in the lean-to portion of the John Quincy Adams Birthplace. It has a large fireplace with an attached beehive oven. During the American Revolutionary War, Abigail Adams may have used this fireplace and a bullet mold to make musket balls for the war effort. A small room off of the kitchen was what Abigail Adams called her “Buttery,” most likely a storage space.
