The John Ownby Cabin is a historic single-story cabin constructed in the 1860s and the last standing home of what was once the Sugarlands community.
Its walls are made of hand-hewn white pine and tulip poplar logs fit together with dovetail notching. The roof is covered with split-oak shingles, and the chimney is constructed of rocks and clay mortar harvested nearby.
