Visitors can start their tour by watching a video about John Dickinson, which gives context to some of the site’s history and significance and a preview of the stories they will hear on the tour. The Visitor Center contains two exhibits with text panels that tell the stories of the tenant farmers, indentured servants, free and enslaved Black men, women, and children who lived, worked, and died on the plantation. One exhibit specifically details the site’s connection to the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. Additionally, the interior of the John Dickinson Plantation Visitor Center is used for lectures and programs for the public.
