John Adams was born in this house on October 30 (October 19 O.S.), 1735. From this country farm, the future lawyer, politician, diplomat, and president learned the values that formed his political career.  While living in this property he started a courtship with a woman from Weymouth, Abigail Smith. The John Adams Birthplace is one of the two oldest presidential birthplaces in the nation. The other is the John Quincy Adams Birthplace.
