Significance:
The Parlor is one of the ground-floor rooms in the John Adams Birthplace.
The Parlor was one of the two original rooms on the ground floor of the John Adams Birthplace. Typically, houses like this one had two rooms, a Hall and a Parlor, on the ground floor with a central chimney and a staircase between the rooms. The Parlor is larger than the Hall and has a smaller fireplace. It was the most refined room in the house.
