Significance:

The Kitchen is located in the lean-to on the back of the John Adams Birthplace.

The lean-to added a large kitchen and dining space to the John Adams Birthplace. Deacon John Adams, the father of John Adams, served as a town selectman and a deacon in the local church. He held church meetings in the house, perhaps using this room as the largest space in the house for that purpose. These meetings and his father’s commitment to his community inspired a young John Adams.
