James Tate Monument

A small stone monument sits amongst trees, it has a twelve inch tall black iron fence at its base.

This monument is also the grave site of Virginia miltiaman James Tate. He was killed in the morning skirmish at New Garden on March 15, 1781 and was moved here a hundred years later.
